The Players Awards

THE PLAYERS AWARDS and LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD is a highly anticipated formal event which is held annually at The Owen Theatre following the final performance of the theater season.

The event provides a rare opportunity to participate in a glamorous evening with men in tuxedos and formal suits and women in sparkling evening gowns. Spot lights will light up the sky as you step on the red carpet to enter the theater. The music of a live orchestra adds to the excitement as the dynamic performers you've seen on stage throughout the year present the awards to the winners. Afterwords you'll enjoy free refreshments and dance under a starry sky at the after-party in Founders Plaza. This glamorous event is open to the public but is limited to 250 seats. If you know someone who has been nominated we encourage you to secure seats today because they will go fast.

The awards themselves, (The Monties) are made of solid bronze and are valued at $900 each. The costs of the Monties are underwritten by generous donations and in-kind services from local businesses. The Players Theater Company thanks The Spirit of Texas Bank, Art Foundry Carpino and Campobella Fine Art Bronze for making these valuable and exclusive awards available for our volunteers to cherish for a lifetime.

A very special Montie award is presented for Lifetime Achievement to a recipient selected by The Players Board of Directors. Recipients of this award have provided years of special service to The Players Theater Company in a variety of ways, making significant contributions of time and effort that have a lasting impact on the organization and our standing within the community. These core members are role models and leaders to the membership and patrons of The Players Theatre Company.

The awards ceremony is also open to other local community arts groups to present awards of special recognition to their members. This year The Greater Conroe Arts Alliance will again be presenting their prestigious MONTIE VISIONARY AWARD to a person who has shown exceptional vision and selflessly promoted arts and culture in Montgomery County.

The awards ceremony is followed immediately by an after-party in the spacious FOUNDERS PLAZA PARK adjacent to The Owen Theatre. The elegant party, complete with a 13 piece big band, is open to all and is also underwritten by our generous sponsors. It features music, dancing, refreshments and a chance to socialize with a veritable who’s who in the arts community of Montgomery County.
